PARIS - TURPIN DE CRISSE (Lancelot) Memories of old Paris. Examples of architecture of various times and styles. With historical or descriptive notes by Mrs. Princess de Craon, Mrs. Countess de Meulan, and by Messrs. de Beauchesne, Castellan, de Clarac, de Courchamps, de La Porte, de Lasalle, de Pastoret, Quatremère de Quincy, Raoul-Rochette, de Rességuier, Revoil, du Sommerard, and de Vimeux. Paris, Imprimerie de E. Duverger, 1835, folio, title, then: multiple pagination, one b. n. o., with 30 lithographed plates in serpentine script, plum half calf with corners, spine with raised bands decorated with floral boxes, single gilt fillet on covers (contemporary binding). Freckles are pretty bad, but good copy. First Edition Rare album dedicated to the Duke of Bordeaux, presented under the patronage of Lancelot-Theodore Turpin de Crissé (1782-1859), who was a fervent legitimist. Copy of C. Oginski, with name in gold lettering at the tail of the back, and a crowned figure in the centre of the top plate.
